SIR - A Ali (T&A, January 3) asks us why should Muslim fight Muslim?

Surely he should be asking that question to the Muslims in Iraq who are killing and maiming their Muslim brothers, sisters and children on a daily basis.

What about his British brothers who are there trying to rebuild a better country for his Muslim "brothers" and being attacked for their pains?

Saddam Hussein was a tyrant in the mould of Hitler, his victims almost exclusively Muslim but I suppose that is OK.

The weapons of mass destruction debacle apart, the Coalition did the world a favour by removing that madman.

Britain has a proud record in peacekeeping roles around the world and what they are now trying to do in Iraq upholds that proud tradition.

We live in a democratic society so everyone has a right to voice their opinion but with that right comes responsibility.

Mr Ali is only adding fuel to the fire of the far right with his "them and us" mentality.
