SIR – In Mr Philip Bird’s letter (T&A, December 2) he writes: “Nationalised industries never made any allowances for or take into account an individuals finances”.
Well, Mr Bird, in that case could you have a word with the privatised energy companies’ as I have an idea they haven’t read your article.
