SIR - Why cannot we have a compromise in the fate of the Odeon building?
Why not demolish either of those architectural monstrosities Wardley House or Arndale House to accommodate a new building?
I'm sure the citizens of Bradford would not mourn the passing of either.
I refute Terry Rooney's statement that the Odeon building is of no architectural significance.
After Howard Carter's discovery of Tutankhamun in 1922 there was a surge in Art Deco architecture with this Egyptian influence. The New Victoria was just such a building.
I consider we are very fortunate to have such a building. Please, Bradford, don't let this building suffer the same fate as Horton Hall, Swan Arcade and Busby's.
