SIR - I strongly support renewable energy projects but a 400ft turbine in a residential area is a step too far.

It is encouraging to see a multi-national (Princes belong to Mitsubishi Corporation) examining alternative energy strategies, but surely not at the expense of local communities and indeed the wider renewables case.

Local residents are expected to put up with a huge structure overlooking their properties, continual noise from the turbine, environmental damage and traffic disruption in a heavily congested area; and property values will be hit hard.

In return Princes reduce their energy bills (which they could actually do by siting the turbine away from a built-up area) but will be seen as a business prepared to harm local communities in pursuit of profit.

From being an authority at the vanguard of the renewable agenda, Bradford Council will be seen as a city prepared to bow to pressure from global business.

The project will inflame the anti-wind farm lobby, planning applications across the country will be made far more difficult to pass.

I urge Princes and their advisers to rethink and for those impacted to oppose this project.
