SIR - I think the Council is absolutely right in stating that Randolph Victor's banner and any others should be removed (T&A, December 11).

There are far too many being hung on fencing on major roads. Bradford at the moment is in a mess with the amount of banners strewn - just about everywhere you look there is something.

Not only does it give a bad image, but it is also a major safety issue - drivers can just take their eye off the road to read what it says and there could be a major accident.

Apart from that, if planning permission is needed and people have not applied, then they are breaking the law.

It is about time the Council took a stand on these issues not just with this man but anyone else who is putting banners up illegally.
