SIR – Well, well, well! Philip Bird of the UKIP party, once again getting his facts wrong. Thatcher attacked and destroyed the unions after the 1984 miners strike, the Winter of Discontent was under a Labour government.
It’s understandable him backing Thatcher, but a bit early canvassing the Tory voters now. UKIP think that people will vote for them because of the general unrest in the country.
UKIP’s policies are questionable to say the least. Good luck in your search for the impossible dream.
