Sir – I am disappointed to report that the Conservative-led Shipley Area Committee has dismissed the concerns of 1.001 residents demanding a safer junction at Baildon Bridge, as a ‘political stunt’.
Both Conservative and Labour councillors openly admitted in the meeting that work at the junction has been blackballed, and will never see the light of day under a Conservative or Labour regime.
The reality is that some politicians in this city just don’t care, and few of them have any respect for other people, including volunteers who spend their own time and money campaigning for the community. I thought Tories were supposed to have manners?
If councillors really feel they can no longer make a difference they should resign, and if Council officers feel the same way they should quit or be sacked. Our city deserves far better.
