SIR – I genuinely have the utmost respect for our police men and women, however a report about a group of them being terrorised by snowballing thugs during an incident last year (T&A, July 13) had me checking the date to see if was April 1.
One of the officers stated “it was more frightening than dealing with the Bradford riots.” The report confirmed the police were armed with batons, tasers and pepper spray. Perhaps they should have enlisted the help of the nearest group of schoolchildren – if they were anything like we were when snowballing, they’d would have soon sorted them out!
