SIR - It's now accepted knowledge that burning fossil fuels to generate electricity, and the associated carbon emissions, are playing a part in changing our global climate.
I write therefore to congratulate Princes Soft Drinks for their commitment to invest £2million to build a wind turbine at their manufacturing site in Bradford. I realise that some people will view the turbine as an eye-sore. It is going to be hard to miss. However we must begin to reduce carbon emissions and move to more renewable energy solutions.
I think it's wonderful that a Bradford-based business is showing such leadership. I realise that gaining planning permission can be a problem, even when the benefits are so transparent. If Princes Soft Drinks are refused planning in Tong, please feel free to give me a call, a turbine would look lovely in "my back yard".
