SIR - Since 1967 I have always renewed my TV licence at my local post office. It was easy and convenient. No longer! The renewal notice I have recently received states quite clearly that I cannot renew my licence at the post office, instead it gave me two other local mini-markets which were pay points' where I could pay cash or take my debit card, only I could not do the latter, it was to be cash only!
Is this supposed to be progress? What was wrong with renewing TV licences at the post office? I cannot understand why the system has been changed when it seemed to be so efficient.
I am aware of the policy of closing many post offices throughout the country but the Post Office should get its facts right as to exactly how you can pay at alternative venues so as to avoid customers making wasted journeys.
