SIR - In reply to Sharmaine Wong and her colleague (T&A, November 14) I would like to point out that we never wanted to stop the buses travelling to Morrisons' HQ.

As residents on a previously quiet residential street, we are only asking for the 636/637 Orange Line bus service to be diverted off Woodhall Avenue.

I suggest she and her fellow co-workers arm themselves with all the facts and bear in mind that workers at several sets of offices on Dick Lane and people attending the leisure centre on Thornbury roundabout lost the use of the 636/637 when it was re-routed to Morrisons. They now have to cross two extremely busy roads.

I would ask her to think about how she would feel if a bus service suddenly and without warning started running on her doorstep and about the young children and elderly who live in the area.

These buses interrupt the sleep of night workers and young children, while people travelling on these buses can see into our homes.

All we are asking for is the quality of our lives restoring - is that too much to ask for?
