SIR - I would like to say to the mindless idiots who set fire to Baildon C of E School, I hope you are pleased with yourselves.

The nursery, which caters for children who are just starting out in mainstream education, has been completely ruined.

Try explaining to a three or four-year-old they can't go to nursery anymore because some brainless fool's decided it would be a good laugh to start a fire.

The school library, which underwent a refurbishment during the summer, is devastated by smoke and water damage.

Parents and teachers spent their spare time, logging and categorising new books for the benefit of the children but all this time and effort has been ruined.

If the people who set fire to the school, or their parents, as they must know when their teenage children are out at 11pm on a Saturday night, are reading this, I hope that they never have a fire at their home and lose things that are personal to them and can never be replaced, as this is what has happened to the children and teachers at the school.
