SIR – I’m sure that this letter will echo the sentiments reverberating around the city of Bradford, but I couldn’t ignore the urge to express my pride and admiration for the display of spirit, grit and determination evident throughout Bradford City’s journey to the Capital One Cup final.

I am a Bradfordian living in Norfolk and was extremely fortunate to get the opportunity to see Bradford at Wembley with my family. Seeing the claret and amber flags flying across a packed stadium put a lump in my throat the size of Valley Parade and it became a challenge to fight back tears.

It was sad to see the incredible run come to an end but, for me, the result was immaterial. The City supporters were exemplary and their unrivalled and loyal adoration for their team in the face of adversity was almost as sweet as winning itself.

The 56 voices who were missing in the crowd were remembered with heart and passion; their spirit taking pride of place in the minds of all the supporters. The experience left us with the hope that dreams can come true; the impossible can be achieved if you want it hard enough.
