So this is it.... After all those weeks of anxious anticipation, after all the joys and triumphs of Bradford City’s frankly astonishing run to the final of the Capital One Cup, the big day has finally arrived.

Football fan or no, there can’t be a soul in Bradford who doesn’t know about the Bantams’ glorious cup campaign and there can’t be another who doesn’t wish them luck in their biggest match since their fantastic victory over Newcastle in the 1911 FA Cup Final.

The stage is set for a match filled with all that’s romantically wonderful about sport in general and football in particular.

On the one side, Swansea – a small club from a small city enjoying its centenary year in the Premier League after trials and tribulations which almost saw it go out of existence.

On the other, Bradford City – if ever there was a team that deserved its moment of glory, this is it: a team that has soared to the heights of the most senior league and plummeted to the depths of administration; a team that has suffered one of the greatest tragedies in sport but a team that has some of the most loyal fans anywhere in the game.

There are many other elements to spice up the story: Phil Parkinson would be the first English coach to win a trophy at the new Wembley; City would be the first team from the fourth tier in Europe ever to win a major domestic trophy, and so on...

Like the whole of Bradford, we desperately want City to pull this off tomorrow. But win or lose, Phil Parkinson and his boys have lifted our hearts and we’ll be carrying our heads higher for some time to come.

So thanks, you Bantams, and good luck!
