SIR - While watching Question Time on television a lady in the audience expressed concern regarding the impact of immigrant children from Eastern Europe on our schools.
The Labour minister Ben Bradshaw assured the questioner that as the people arriving in the country would be mainly young couples the influx of young children would be minimal.
The next day, contrary to the Minister's assurances, there was a piece in the T&A highlighting problems caused by the influx of immigrant children stating new schools may have to be built.
If this is the case what woolly-headed thinking allowed perfectly good school buildings to be either demolished or sold off?
With a Minister unaware of problems in the wider community and a Council seemingly unable to conduct a positive strategy, is it any wonder people despair of politicians?
