SIR - Is anyone else as sick as I am of the number of begging letters which come through the door every day?

Contribute to one charity and one is inundated with letters, raffle tickets and so on from every other charity under the sun. If I were to answer them all my pension would be used up for several weeks ahead.

Apart from the effect on the rain forests, my paper bin is overflowing, my shredder is burning out and my temper is unmentionable.

I had five sets from the PDSA in one week. I feel sure that the money spent on these appeals would be far better spent on the work and not on clipboard carriers, especially that which goes on TV advertising which must cost millions.
