A former long-serving parish councillor described as an “absolute gentleman” has died suddenly aged 62.
Ian Shackleton, who had served on Haworth, Cross Roads and Stanbury Parish Council until May last year, died last Friday of natural causes at his home in Alkincote Street, Keighley.
He had four sons from two marriages and before moving to Keighley had lived in Cross Roads and Haworth for many years. He dedicated much of his public service to improving recreation facilities for children and young people.
