HUNDREDS of mourners attended the funeral of a former greengrocer who served the Manningham community.
Abdul Rahman, who started working in the Pak General Store in Lumb Lane in 1968, died aged 80 at his home in Marlborough Road earlier this month.
In retirement, Mr Rahman developed a passion for gardening and his efforts were recognised by the Lord Mayor of Bradford who honoured him with five Bradford in Bloom awards.
Shazia Rahman, one of Mr Rahman’s six children, said: “People referred to him as Raymond and described him as a charming, extremely kind-hearted gent.
“We are overwhelmed with the sheer volume of support and sympathy from the community who came to pay their respects at our father’s funeral prayers. We are truly humbled to learn how our father had touched so many hearts.”
