POLICE are asking residents to be aware of burglaries and attempted burglaries in sheds and garages around Settle in recent days and to ensure outside buildings are secure.

One incident occurred overnight on December 6 in Oxley Fold, Settle, when a shed was broken into and a specialised light bright blue mountain bike with black handle bars and black wheels was taken.

Another attempted garage burglary occurred in South Parade in the town.

There was also an attempted shed burglary at High Hill Grove Street, Settle, overnight yesterday, December 8.
