It's back and it's bigger than ever.

A massive sausage roll measuring half a metre has been launched by Yorkshire based company Prestige Hampers and is even bigger than the one they produced for Father's Day which Good Morning Britain TV presenter Piers Morgan highlighted.

This monster snack with a festive twist in time for Christmas weighs in at 1.3kg and is 50 cms, or 19 inches long - a full four inches longer than its predecessor which its creators dubbed the largest in the UK.

A Spokesman for Prestige Hampers said the UK's largest sausage roll was a massive hit in the summer when it launched in time for Father's day but this one is even bigger.

He said: "The humongous sausage rolls are fresh and handmade and enriched with all-butter puff pastry and packed with succulent premium Yorkshire reared pork shoulder. The latest edition has a traditional festive twist including tasty turkey, bacon with herbs and seasonings to make a truly delicious festive feast. This sausage roll is the talking point this Christmas and a real tasty beast."

The company sent a specimen of the earlier creation to Piers Morgan who tweeted, along with a photograph: "Now THIS is what I call a sausage roll. Apparently it's Britain's biggest....@HampersPrestige

At the time Morgan was making it known he was not a fan of the vegan sausage roll which a well-known bakery chain had launched.

The sausage roll is advertised on Prestige Hampers' website for £19.99 and will be available to buy online from Sunday, November 1.
