POLICE are appealing for witnesses and information after a motorcyclist died in a crash at the weekend.

North Yorkshire Police have said the incident occurred on the B6160, approximately one mile north of Kilnsey, at around 12.50pm yesterday, July 26.

A spokesman said it involved a black and white motorbike that was being ridden from Kilnsey towards Kettlewell.

“Sadly, the 52 year-old male rider was pronounced dead at the scene.

The road remained partly closed while emergency services dealt with the crash and police started an investigation.

The spokesman said: “We are requesting the public’s assistance to help establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

“In particular, officers would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or has any dash-cam footage taken in the area at the time, which may have captured the collision or the vehicle prior to the incident.
