BOLTON Priory has held its first wedding of the year after lockdown restrictions were modified recently.

The ceremony at Bolton Priory on Saturday 11th July between Oliver O’Brien and Emma Lawson-Matthew took place in front of a small number of guests.

All weddings at Bolton Priory had been cancelled since lockdown at the end of March.

Oliver and Emma were the first couple to get married since the restrictions were lifted on July 4.

There were just ten guests at the wedding and the honeymoon is being spent in the United Kingdom.

The Rector, Reverend Nicholas Mercer, remarked how lovely it was for weddings to recommence at Bolton Priory and to witness couples making their vows to each other.

The Priory Church of St Mary and St Cuthbert, Bolton Abbey is a Grade I listed parish church in Bolton Abbey.
