It was heartening to read so many people had really enjoyed the shutting of the high street, Skipton, on market days to traffic.
I would like to invite local councillors and officers who can decide to make this permanent to respond via the Craven Herald giving their plans for the high street.
Isn't it time for a bold move to put pedestrians and shoppers first? And not just on market days.
Flower beds, attractive seating and other innovations would be a definite filip to the struggling businesses.
Come on, Skipton. Turn this crisis to our advantage. Local companies could even sponsor street furniture. What are we waiting for? For the naysayers to shake their heads again?
