Just wanted to say a massive 'thank you' to North Yorkshire County Council and Craven District Council for deciding to close our high street to traffic on market days. How much more a pleasant experience it is to stroll around at leisure in comfort and ease. So lovely to see so many smiling and relaxed faces, rather than the queuing, pushing and shoving when we do not have this space.
I hope this is a sign of one of the changes in Skipton for the future. A high street precinct comes to mind, with only market and essential traffic allowed. Hope my dreams come true and our high street can remain the happy, relaxed and stress free domain I witnessed last week.
