A TOY collecting ‘Re-Use Santa’ campaign organised before Christmas by Yorwaste waste management company is expected to generate around £650 for Martin House Children’s Hospice..

In December the company launched an appeal for people to donate unwanted toys to them.

The appeal was a great success and all of the donations have been dispersed to the 12 Martin House charity shops and eBay store where their sales will help the hospice.

A Yorwaste spokesman said, in addition, three children’s bikes and two go-karts will be used for children to play with at the hospice.

Stephanie Rimmington, head of retail at Martin House, said: “We are incredibly grateful to Yorwaste, and to everyone who has donated to the appeal, for supporting Martin House.

“The toys are brightening up the shelves of our shops, and we know they will sell very quickly.

“The money they raise will make a real difference to the families who depend on Martin House for care and support.”
