FORMER language teachers Peter and Mollie Self are celebrating their diamond wedding anniversary today (Thursday).
The Skipton couple, who married at Broughton Road Methodist Church, on October 31, 1959, attended Skipton Girls’ High School and Ermysted’s Grammar School respectively.
After university, Peter went off to teach French and German, while Mollie taught French and PE, and later taught at primary schools.
Since they retired they have carried out French tutoring with the Craven U3A group.
And the couple show no signs of slowing down as former Skipton rugby player Peter regularly attends Christ Church while Mollie sings in the choir each week at St Andrew’s Church.
The couple have daughters Rosamund and Catherine, and a grand-daughter, Hannah.
