A SIMPLE guide to walking the Dales Way in day stages using bus and train services has just been published as part of the 50th Anniversary celebrations of the popular 81-mile Dales Way walk.

Colin Speakman, chairman of the Dales Way Association and vice chair of Friends of DalesBus said: “Many walkers wanting to walk the Dales Way may not have a full week available to do the walk but prefer to do it in day or weekend stages. Doing this the environmentally friendly way by using local bus and train services is an excellent way of experiencing the Dales Way and supporting local services, whilst reducing your carbon footprint.”

The leaflet guides walkers towards the key bus and train services they can use to make it easier to for them to enjoy a walk on the Dales Way, together with links to the latest timetable information.

It is available free at visitor information centres in the Yorkshire Dales, on weekends at the Dales Way 50 exhibition in Ilkley until September 1, or downloaded it at www.dalesbus.org/walks.
