DEMENTIA charity Dementia Forward is opening its first weekly cafe in Skipton.
Welcome Wednesday is launching on August 14 at St Andrew’s Church Hall and will then take place each week.
People can go along for a light lunch and to enjoy activities such as games and crafts, but most importantly to make new friends and have fun.
Dementia Forward is an experienced team, committed to supporting people with dementia to live well within their community. They offer a helpline and a support team, which anyone affected by dementia in North Yorkshire can access, along with wellbeing services, such as their cafes, which mean that people affected by dementia have a relaxed, welcoming group they can attend every week.
The charity is looking for volunteers who can go along and support the group on a rota basis.
