BEAMSLEY wedding florist Susanne Loweth is one of three local growers of British flowers who are celebrating British Flowers Week - June 10 to 16, by leaving bunches of freshly-cut, British-grown bouquets for the public to ‘find’ and take home.

She will be leaving the bunches around Skipton, in various locations wrapped in brown paper with the label ‘take me home’.

Jane Tucker of The Gathered Garden, in Bingley, and Claire Clark, of Pear Tree House Flowers, of Middleton, Ilkley, will be leaving bouquets around their home areas.

Susanne added: “As a wedding florist, I use British whenever I can, because you get so many beautiful flowers to choose from. You can create a unique look that you just cannot get with imported flowers.”

.British Flowers Week is a celebration of British-grown cut flowers and foliage that aims to make home-sourced blooms the first choice for the nation’s flower-lovers. The event is promoted by New Covent Garden Flower Market, where British flowers have been traded for centuries.
