A PLANNING application for 53 houses with off-street parking has been lodged with Craven District Council.

The proposals are for a development site to the north of Airedale Avenue, Skipton on greenfield land.

The application has been made by Craven Barnfield Regeneration Ltd.

A dense block of woodland extends along the site’s western boundary with a rail corridor that runs along the western edge.

It is bordered by further residential areas to the north, west and south.

To the east the site joins open countryside with rolling hills.

The boundary of the Yorkshire Dales National Park is approximately 900 metres to the north, separated by intervening housing.

Thirty seven of the houses will be for private sales and the remaining 16 will be affordable homes.

The initial scheme was for 49 houses but was increased to 53 after a pre-planning meeting with the council.
