ENTRIES are now being received for Settle’s annual walking/running event which people of all abilities can enjoy.

Settle Saunter 2019, organised by the Rotary Club of Settle takes place on Sunday, June 9, and takes entrants along footpaths and bridleways into the Dales and through picturesque rural villages and hamlets.

The Saunter helps the Rotary Club of Settle raise funds for good causes.

Each of the different disciplines has three start times: 8.30am for the 23-miler, 9.30am for the half marathon and 10.30am for the 10k route.

The longer routes have checkpoints with light refreshments along the way and a hot savoury meal provided at the end.

Badges and certificates will be handed out on completion and all are included in the entry fee Free parking is also provided.

Some of the route is flagged with tape to help with navigation along unfamiliar territory.

The 23-mile route is restricted to ages 18 and over. Sixteen to 17-year-olds taking part in the shorter routes most provide a parental consent form if unaccompanied.

Juniors aged 15 or younger must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times.

Registration, start and finish on the day is at the Victoria Hall, in Kirkgate, Settle, and begins an hour before each discipline is due to start.
