CRAVEN residents are being reminded that they will need to provide proof of identity to be able to vote at the next local elections on Thursday, May 2, as part of a voter ID pilot.
Households in Bentham, Embsay-with-Eastby, Gargrave and Malhamdale, Glusburn, Skipton East, Skipton North, Skipton South, Skipton West, Sutton-in-Craven and West Craven are all being sent reminder letters from Friday.
Residents will need to provide either one form of photo ID or two forms of non-photo ID, one of which can be a poll card, at the polling station before they are able to vote.
Craven District Council will provide alternative methods of ID free of charge to individuals who do not have the correct ID,.
The pilot does not affect residents who use postal voting.
