THE recently built Co-op store and filling station in New Road, Ingleton, had to be closed temporarily last night after high winds brought down some of the front display hoarding.
The hoarding was above the entrance to the store and was regarded dangerous for customers.
A spokesman for the Co-op said: "Our store in New Road, in Ingleton, was temporarily closed last night to allow repairs to the store front, which had been damaged by high winds.
"The store re-opened this morning as usual to serve the community.”
The Three Peaks store was opened in July last year after a £2.2 million programme of work including a new store, the replacement of tanks, pumps and signage with the installation of additional jet wash, air, car-vacuum and water facilities.
