AT least one person has been taken to hospital following a two-vehicle crash in Grassington Road, Skipton, this afternoon.

Police were called to the junction of Raikes Road and Grassington Road just off the A59 Grassington Road roundabout at 1.20pm after a collision between a Dacia Duster and a Honda Civic.

A police spokesman said two people were thought to be injured with one being taken to Airedale General Hospital for treatment.

The condition of the injured is not known.

North Yorkshire Traffic Constable Andy Ingram was at the scene and tweeted a picture of the aftermath of the crash.

The road was blocked and traffic was being diverted until recovery work had been completed.

Drivers are being asked to avoid the route until the road is clear.
