THOUSANDS of visitors turned out on a pleasant day at Kilnsey Show on Tuesday.

“It’s been a very good day,” said Robert Lambert, chairman of Kilnsey Show. “The weather has been kind to us and everybody has enjoyed themselves. We couldn’t have asked for anything better.”

Dr Peter Whitehead, president of Kilnsey Show, said: “It’s been a lovely day. This weather has been perfection.”

Dr Whitehead, who had been a medical doctor at Kilnsey Show for 25 years, added: “It’s been extremely nice meeting old friends.”

The day featured many different activities, as visitors had the chance to see farming families show off their livestock, display tents with produce, baked goods and more, and a wide selection of trade stands.

In the afternoon, runners entered the challenging Kilnsey Crag fell race and people watched harness racing around the show ring.
