AN Ilkley man who set out to run 10k a day in May in aid of charity has raised more than five times his original target.
Michael Pidd was hoping to raise £310 for Hope for Tomorrow - but he has reached £1,700 after completing his challenge.
He decided to embark on the daily runs to mark the second anniversary since his partner, Amy, lost her dad, Philip Baxter, to cancer.
Philip was well known in Ilkley having worked at numerous restaurants and hotels in the area, including the Cow and Calf and the tennis club.
Michael said: “Hope for Tomorrow are a dedicated charity bringing cancer care closer to patients’ homes via their Mobile Cancer Care Units (MCCUs). Working in a unique partnership with the NHS, they have 10 MCCUs operational nationwide including at Airedale General Hospital.”
