PEOPLE are being urged to make their views known on the 550 home East of Otley scheme.
Richard Davies, Labour’s Otley town council candidate for Danefield, and Lucy Nuttgens, who is standing for Labour in the city council elections, stressed the importance of public participation.
Richard Davies said:“There are several very active campaigning groups, which is great, but we are keen to make sure that every Otley resident knows how to put their views forward”
Lucy Nuttgens said: “The Leeds Planning Portal can look daunting but it is quite easy to put your comments in. We will be active in publicising the various ways people can influence the decision. East of Otley will have a major impact on our lives for years to come, so let’s get it right.”
In Ms Nuttgens' response to the outline consultation earlier this year she stressed that the importance of preserving the environment must be balanced against the need to provide more affordable housing and more jobs.
