WHARFEDALE’S musicians are preparing to spread some melodic festive cheer online.
A bumper Christmas edition of Otley Online Music Festival will be presented from 7.30pm on Friday, December 4. The event will feature performances from folk trio Yan Tan Tether, The Jon Palmer Acoustic Band, Chimes and a whole host of other local acts.
The bands have each recorded videos - made while observing social distancing - which will be shown on the night at https://otleymusicfestival.wordpress.com. Yan Tan Tether took advantage of a break in lockdown earlier this year to complete their recording in Otley Parish Church.
So far the festival, which was first aired back in June and is the brainchild of musician and sound engineer Paul Briscoe, has raised more than £600 for local causes. Viewers are encouraged to donate via a gofundme link - https://www.gofundme.com/f/otley-music-festival-online.
