OTLEY teenager Noah Dockar was determined to do something to mark Remembrance Day this year.
The Year 10 Prince Henry’s Grammar School student would normally have attended a service with his church and Scouts group but the pandemic meant that wasn’t possible, so he came up with an alternative.
He said: “The West Yorkshire Scout Association asked if people would stand in their doorways in uniform on the Sunday for the two minute silence. My mum is a Beaver leader at one of the local ‘colonies’ and we decided to do it together. A week or so before Otley Brass Band were talking about how brass players would often play the Last Post but this year that wouldn’t be possible.
“So I decided to combine the two and play it on my doorstep.” Head of Performing Arts at Prince Henry’s, Peter Condry, said: “Noah is lovely lad and a stalwart of the Music Department. We are very proud of him.”
