OTLEY Courthouse has screened its first film in four months - on Yorkshire Day.

The arts venue was shut at the beginning of the COVID-19 lockdown and is just starting to gradually put on events again.

Its first post-lockdown screening took place on Saturday, August 1 when it showed The Runaways - a film following the adventures of three children and two donkeys on the North Yorkshire Moors.

Alex Leggat, of Otley Film Society, said: “The Covid-secure screening worked well and the measures in place helped the audience feel safe and secure.

“The feedback was positive and comments will be acted on to ensure the next screening is equally well received.

“The social distancing within the Courthouse also worked well along with the one way system and use of hand sanitisers.”

The Courthouse’s next movie will be Knives Out, a ‘whodunit’ starring Daniel Craig as Detective Benoit Blanc - who has to work out which of the Thrombey family is guilty.

The film will be shown at 2pm and 7.30pm on Thursday, August 13. Tickets can be booked online at https://otleycourthouse.org.uk/.
