ITEMS from one of Wharfedale’s country estates will go under the hammer in July.
Tennants Auctioneers is holding its first major sale since the COVID-19 lockdown began on Friday, July 17 and Saturday, July 18.
The event, which will have social distancing measures in place, will include more than 800 lots of furniture, paintings, ceramics, glass, works of art, clocks, carpets and more along with a Jewellery, Watch and Silver sale.
Among the pieces going under the hammer - at The Auction Centre at Leyburn, starting at 9.30am on both days - will be contents from the Arthington Park estate.
A spokesperson for the auctioneers said: “Tennants’ Country House Sales are always enormously popular, combining as they do good pieces of period furniture and traditional paintings with Asian art, clocks, rugs and interesting and unusual works of art and curios.”
The country house lots include a pair of Staffordshire black and white Pottery Rabbits that date back to about 1870.
