OTLEY Cubs have raised more than £1,100 for charity by completing a cycle challenge.
Both 2nd Otley Cub packs joined forces for a family cycle camp that aimed to rack up a total combined distance of 1,000km whilst maintaining social distancing at all times.
The event - which included the cubs camping out in their own back gardens - also raised money for the Zarach charity which provides beds and food parcels for disadvantaged children in the Leeds area.
In the end the cubs smashed their original combined distance target and raised more than £1,100 for Zarach.
Joint Cub Scout Leader (Thursday Pack) Mark Hargrave said: “There was a fantastic response to the cycle challenge with the cubs easily exceeding the 1,000km target with a whopping combined total distance of 2,966km..
“That’s slightly further than Lands End to John O’Groats and back again! Well done 2nd Otley Cubs.”
