OTLEY Food Bank has received an ‘eggscellent’ donation from a local school.

Prince Henry’s Grammar School has delivered a full bag of chocolate Easter eggs to the food bank.

The eggs had been donated by staff at the school for its annual charity fundraising raffle but that event was cancelled after the COVID-19 lockdown took effect, closing Prince Henry’s to most students.

Student Leadership and Post-16 Manager, Vicki Robinson-Junni, said: “We didn’t want the Easter eggs to go to waste and we have strong links with the Otley Food Bank already, as our Sixth Form ASDAN students ran a project to collect food for them in the run up to Christmas.

“It is lovely to think that families will be able to enjoy an Easter egg, whatever their circumstances.”

Year 12 students from the school collected lots of items for the food bank in November and December and presented them in time for Christmas.
