Mr Close (seated, second right|) was the youngest man ever to play Test cricket for England, when he was picked to play against New Zealand in 1949 at the age of 18. He went on to play 22 Test matches for his country. Mr Close was born in Rawdon in 1931 and died in 2015. Also pictured are PC Long, Cllr and Mrs D. Gibbon, and Cllr Goodman.
