THE MAIN road through Pool-in-Wharfedale has reopened following a serious crash.
A car and motorbike were in collision on the A658 Main Street, near the Shell garage by Pool Bridge, just before 7.30am on Friday, January 10.
The motorcyclist, a man in his forties, was trapped under the vehicle and had to be extracted by firefighters with crews from Otley and Cookridge attending.
He was taken by land ambulance to Leeds General Infirmary with what are believed to be serious but not life-threatening injuries.
The people in the car were shaken but did not require hospital treatment.
Yorkshire Ambulance Service sent an ambulance crew, a Hazardous Area Response Team, a rapid response vehicle and an air ambulance to the scene and West Yorkshire Police were also in attendance.
The road was closed for several hours after the crash, causing lengthy delays.
West Yorkshire Police is appealing for witnesses to get in touch by calling 101 and quoting log number 244 of January 10, 2020.
