OTLEY’S Christmas Tree Festival is underway - and looking bigger and brighter than ever.

All Saints Parish Church has been filled with 44 trees, all specially decorated by local charities and community groups, for the event.

The festival was launched at noon on Wednesday, December 11 by Bellman Terry Ford and members of Guiseley Brass Band.

Free to enter with donations to the pariticipating charities encouraged, it will continue - running from 10am to 6pm daily - until the evening of Saturday, December 14. Festival visitors will also be treated to performances of Christmas carols and other festive music courtesy of local schools, bands and choirs.

Organised by Helen and Tim Wilkinson for Otley Chamber of Trade, the event is supported by Stephen H Smith’s Garden Centre. The trees will remain in place on Sunday, December 15 for the church’s 4pm Christmas Tree Carol Service.
