THE Girder Forks and Classic Motorcycle Club has donated £4,500 to three local charities this month despite only having only 95 members - many from Ilkley. The club holds just one show a year in June displaying over 100 vintage/classic and modern bikes. Treasurer, Blake Hemingway, of Ilkley, said good weather in late June led to over 1,000 visitors attending the Big Bike Sunday at the Skipton Auction Mart. “For such a small club it’s amazing how the members have pulled together to create such an event which is now a regular in the show calendar. A big thanks goes out to all those attending the show,” he said. The three charities - Yorkshire Air Ambulance, Sue Ryder Manorlands and White Knights Yorkshire blood bikes, - attended the club’s monthly meeting in November and received their cheques.

The club meets on the first Tuesday of the month at 7.30pm in the Steeton Hall hotel, Steeton.
