THE FATHER of the Bronte sisters will be the subject of a talk at Rawdon Community Library this month.

Patrick Bronte was the father of the three famous authors Emily, Charlotte and Anne. His life will be discussed by Diane Fare of the Bronte Society and Bronte Parsonage Museum.

A library spokeswoman said: “Another talk from Diane - whose previous lectures on Emily and Anne Bronte have proved popular and fascinating - this time on the father of three famous authors, one unhappy son and two more girls who died as children.”

The event will take place at 2pm on Tuesday, November 26. Tickets cost £4, in advance or on the door, and include refreshments

The library will also be offering a wide range of attractions during a Christmas fair in conjunction with Rawdon’s Christmas Shopping Night from 5pm on December 3.

A cafe will be set up in the library to serve hot drinks and snacks. There will also be children’s activities, including ‘Letter to Santa’.

Stalls will offer crafts and local produce and there will also be a raffle, tombola and book stall.
