LA Stazione coffee shop in Ilkley have whipped up cash in aid of Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice. Along with a collection can, they have donated £473.12 on behalf of their customers. The independent café decided to help the environment and sell reusable coffee cups. They donated 100 per cent of the sales to Manorlands Hospice, Marie Curie and Kidscan. Max Crane said: “We wanted to do whatever we could to reduce that amount of disposable coffee cups used and we know what a great cause Sue Ryder Manorlands are, and the difference they make to peoples lives. Such a worthy cause, so we decided to give them a third of all the money we took for the cups.”

La Stazione, like Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice, has the community at the heart of their organisation. Its costs £9,000 every day to provide care both at Manorlands Hospice and out in the local community. Community Fundraiser, Karen Jones, said: “It’s brilliant to see a local business supporting our work. It costs approximately £540,000 a year to provide care to patients and their families living in the LS29 postcode area. To continue to provide this high level of care we need local establishments to support our work. We simply can not continue to provide the level of care we do without support from the community. We are so grateful to Max and the team for choosing to support us, and of course, huge gratitude goes to the amazing customers who have raised this fantastic amount. People should never underestimate the difference their contribution makes.”
