A BEN Rhydding man has completed a marathon tennis playing session for a cause close to his heart.
Jason Horsman played continuously for 15 hours at Ilkley Tennis Club - which donated an indoor court for the occasion - on Friday, November 8. The event saw the 42 year old challenge multiple competitors in six, one-hour singles matches and nine doubles matches. The first game got underway at 6.30am and a ‘completely exhausted’ Jason hit his last ball at 9.30pm.
Proceeds from the day will go to Haven Breast Cancer and Breast Cancer Care which Jason says have provided ‘superb’ help to his family over the past 12 months.
Writing on his https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/ page, he said: “Like many charities they do super-human things to give people advice, support and hope in their times of need.” Jason’s efforts have brought in nearly £2,600 and further donations would be welcomed.
